In Pakistan, Ashoka has elected and supported 47 Ashoka Fellows in fields ranging from human rights, education, health and more. As the field of social entrepreneurship continues to grow, Ashoka wants to work with a greater proportion of the population - individuals, companies, universities, youth groups who are taking action to address identified social challenges in the country. This is a challenge and a great opportunity for someone who wants to create a society in which everyone can be a changemaker.
We are seeking an entrepreneurial individual to lead Ashoka in Pakistan; someone with a deep commitment to innovation and social change, strong strategic thinking skills and an empathetic leadership style. The person needs to be fluent in English and Urdu and preferably have experience working with the business sector. The country director will be based in Pakistan, but will work directly with other country leaders and with the global leadership team.
Some of the responsibilities are:
* Develop strategies and networks to select and support leading social entrepreneurs and link them to Ashoka's local and global network of Fellows/Partners,
* Launch new programs and partnerships to engage young people and other players with changemaking
* Work with companies and media partners to create a movement around social change
* Raise funds to expand Ashoka's work in the country
