Hands-on Workshop on LaTeX

LaTeX is a document markup language and a documentation preparation system for TeX typesetting program which is most widely used by mathematicians, scientists, engineers, philosophers, Lawyers, Linguist, economists, researchers and other scholars in academia. As a primary or intermediate format, LaTeX is used because of high quality of typesetting achievable by TeX. The typesetting system offers programmable desktop publishing features and extensive facilities for automating most aspects of typesetting and desktop publishing, including numbering and cross-referencing, tables and figures, page layout and bibliographies. Writing research papers according to the format of the specified conference in Microsoft Word is very tiring and hectic task.
Therefore, NUST-SEECS presents a hands-on session on LaTeX in which we will cover:
- Introduction to LaTeX
- Installation on Different OS
- Why LaTeX is Preferred on MS-Word
- Basic Commands of LaTeX
- Tables and Figures
- Mathematical Equations, Algorithms and Theorems
- Labels and Cross-references
- Bibliography Management
- Paper Writing
- Thesis Writing
- Style files of LaTeX
- Different Plug ins
It is completely a hands-on session so that you can learn it, practice it and then make your life easier while writing research papers/technical documents.

Registration Fee for NUST Students: Rs. 200/-
Registration Fee for Other Students: Rs. 500/-
For Professionals: Rs. 1,000/-
