2ND NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION ASSURANCE

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that Military College of Signals (MCS), National University of Sciences Technology (NUST) is organizing the 2nd National Conference on Information Assurance 2013 (NCIA-2013) to be held on 11-12 December 2013. NCIA-2013 is being organized with technical co-sponsorship of IEEE Computer Society, and IEEE Communications Society. In addition, a number of leading organizations from academia as well as industry are also participating in the mega event as official and publicity partners. NCIA-2013 is expected to serve as a platform for exploring the latest trends, technologies, developments, challenges and industry best practices in the field of information security and information assurance. On this platform, some of the finest experts and researchers from academia, industry and government sector will engross themselves in invited talks, keynote speeches and white paper presentations, will review and evaluate research papers presenting novel ideas, will take part in panel discussions and training workshops and will witness state-of-the-art technologies in the NCIA-2013 industrial exposition, all under one roof.
CALL FOR PAPERS
The 2nd National Conference on Information Assurance 2013 is expected to provide the opportunity for researchers from government, academia and industry to meet and discuss their experiences, present their research works to the conference attendees and compete for prizes. Research papers presenting novel ideas are solicited for submission. The accepted research papers will be evaluated by a panel of experts and prizes will be awarded to authors of best three research papers (Laptop Computer, Notebook Computer and Smart Phone along with certificates) Selected papers will be published in a renowned journal of information assurance.

General Instructions
- All papers must be written in English.
- Submitted paper must be original, unpublished, and not submitted to another conference or journal for consideration.
- Papers must be submitted via the EasyChair conference submission system.
Paper Formatting Instructions
- Submitted papers must not exceed 8 pages in length including tables, figures, bibliography and well-marked appendices.
- Each submitted paper must include the following;
1. Title of paper
2. Name(s) of author(s), their organizational affiliation(s) and email address(es)
3. Contact details of the corresponding author (postal address, email address, telephone number and fax number)
4. Abstract (not more than 200 words)
Paper Review Process
- Each submitted paper will undergo a plagiarism checking process. Plagiarized papers will be automatically rejected and disqualified from the review process.
- Each submitted paper will undergo a blind peer review and will receive at least three reviews. Reviewers' comments for accepted as well as rejected papers will be communicated to the authors.
Paper Acceptance/Rejection
- Authors will be notified about the acceptance/rejection of their submitted papers on/before 15 October 2013.
- At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register with the conference and present the paper.
- Accepted papers of registered authors ONLY will be presented at the conference and published in the conference proceedings.
Best Research Paper Prizes
- The accepted research papers presented at the conference will be evaluated by a panel of experts.
- Based on the decision of the nominated panel of experts, prizes will be awarded to authors of best three research papers.
FIRST PRIZE: Laptop Computer + Certificate
SECOND PRIZE: Notebook Computer + Certificate
THIRD PRIZE: Smart Phone + Certificate

CALL FOR EXPO
On the NCIA-2013 platform, organizations will be given the opportunity to promote their businesses and showcase their products in front of several hundred focused buyers. The participating organizations can deliver their products' information through white paper presentations, as well as, conversational sessions between conference attendees browsing the exhibitor stalls and representatives from the vendor organizations. By being a sponsor or exhibitor at NCIA-2013, participating organizations will have the opportunity to present their offerings directly to conference attendees and thus ensure high visibility for their products and services.
The NCIA-2013 offers a variety of sponsorship and advertisement opportunities for every budget level. CALL FOR WORKSHOP
The 2nd National Conference on Information Assurance 2013 invites submissions for workshop proposals on topics related to information security and information assurance.
The NCIA-2013 workshop will be co-located with the main conference and is expected to cover 2 to 4 days, between 13-16 December 2013. The workshop is expected;
· To provide a comprehensive introduction to already established/ emerging topic(s) of significant impact and offer in-depth training on relevant core technique(s)/tool(s)/application(s), to its participants.
· To define a good balance between coverage of theoretical concepts and incorporation of interactive hands-on sessions.
Topics currently at the fore-front of research and development activities, generally associated with major advances in the field are particularly welcome.
We advise having more than one presenter and no more than three, preferably with different expertise, in order to bring different perspectives to the workshop topic(s).
Submitting a Workshop Proposal
Workshop proposals must be submitted using the prescribed Workshop Proposal Form.
Each submitted proposal will be reviewed by the NCIA-2013 Organizing Committee, and ranked on the basis of;
· Significance of the proposed topic
· Quality of workshop contents
· Organization's business reputation
· Facilitator's profile
· Proposed quotation
Organizers of the accepted workshop must submit the workshop registration form duly filled, within 7 days of notification of acceptance (Workshop registration form will be sent to the organizers of accepted workshop proposal through email). Organizers will be responsible for preparation and maintenance of workshop website, containing all relevant information about the workshop. Organizers will be required to submit the workshop material to be given to attendees (slide sets, additional teaching material, software installation guides, user manuals etc.) to the Workshop Chair, at least two weeks before the workshop dates. Organizers will be responsible for workshop publicity, however, important information and updates about the workshop will also be posted on NCIA-2013 website. Along with fully equipped state-of the-art computer labs, NCIA-2013 Organizing Committee will also provide on-site logistical support to the organizers and attendees. Interested organizations must send completed workshop proposal forms to NCIA-2013 Organizing Committee at ncia2013@mcs.edu.pk.
