[pakgrid] Re: Withdrawal of tax exemption: Teachers, researchers berate decisi

Hi All,

The points raised by Mr. Afzal and Mr. Adeel are very valid. I am really sorry to say that this is the moral level of our teachers, then what moral level we should expect from politicians.

Alot of taxpayers(general public) money is going into the pockets of fraudulent peoples sitting in every other university, as pointed out. What is the point of wasting taxpayers money in foreign tours when the project is not even near to success. The project Director of USB3.0 project gone for the advertisement of something which is not near to existence in the near future. Such trips not only the cause of waste of money but also give others a chance to laugh at our maturity level.

When such people come on hiring workforce for the project, they offer them merely 15000 to 25000, while they got approval for hiring people at 60000 to 70000. My question is where is the rest of money going. This shows that there is alot of space for corruption and major portion of the grant goes to the corrupt people.

Also, as stated earlier, such corrupt PDs, transfer money to some students accounts, who are not really working on project and later on get it back from them in form of checks. By this process they show ICT that money is given to employee as pay, but actually is going to their own pockets. This is only one example, there should be checks on the equipment purchase level also, where alot of space for corruption exist.

The point is that there are surely some scrutiny from ICT when a project is being awarded. But the point is how many of such projects are ended up in the success. The number of projects which turned out into failure is very high.

ICT must ensure the strict monitoring of the funds and project status and there should be some fines imposed on the Project Director and the University management for every unsuccessful project. Also such fraud persons and universities should never be assigned new projects.

Regards,

Ch Rizwan

I totally agree with Mr Afzal khan and would like to add that ICT projects are just a way to grab money and do a little work coz ICT has no capable team for monitoring of projects. I myself worked on USB 3.0 ICT funded  project started in 2009 and had to be finished in 2 years but it is still running. The PD did not show the desired outputs to ict team and they black listed it. on the other hand surprisingly this project was selected as top 5 ICT projects and its PD went to USA for its marketing. I think ICT had alot of extra tax payers money so that they had to send someone so that fund is not wasted. thats the level of competence at ICT.

I checked it and it contained some non synthesizeable statements. People of FPGA field will know what i am talking about. I said to student that this code and is not synthesizeable and hence can not be burned in FPGA. HE told me that his foreign qualified  teacher burned this code in FPGA infront of whole class. and i was shocked by this statement. So mostly teachers are of this category. How can you ask for tax exemption?
