Nice catch Mufti sahib,
Reason is not technology failure neither it put question mark on viability of solar solution.
Its fails because of bad business practices
Here is more insight of the story

Few months back the Chinese behemoth in solar energy SUNTECH declared bankruptcy. Despite Chinese Government financial backing it failed. I seriously question the wisdom of using Solar Energy as a viable option. SUNTECH is in business again but after Chinese government dumped more money into. The analyst projection is that would need to inject more money soon.Regards

Solar Option:for retail prices see Amazon, its almost 1 euro per W, or 100 Rupees per WIn Pakistan you can check this site for reference, price will be round about these valueshttp://www.solarsystemspk.com/prices/prices.htmlOr if you know what you need, check for bulk prices here, be aware of nasty custom departmentFor retail prices see Amazon (http://www.amazon.de/SOLARPANEL-SOLARMODUL-PHOTOVOLTAIK-SOLARZELLE-SOLAR/dp/B0089BVORK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370848271&sr=8-1&keywords=solarpanel)Regards,

I belong to one village of Rahim Yar Khan. Our village people facing many problems on due to electricity and 2nd best source of water for agriculture purpose.I want to give them best alternative of renewable energy source which can run one or two water tubewells and also meet their domestic electricity needs.Their only income source is agriculture but our government frustrated them for not giving them access water to feed their crops.Kindly suggest me and give your inputs to solve the problem of our poor village peoples.I have two options whether to go on solar energy or on Bio gas plant but I think initial cost of solar is very high, so suggest me which option will be feasible ?I need complete feasibility study for both options compared with heavy fuel or diesel and WAPDA.I know that here all peoples are engineers, professors, professionals and practitioners and consultants also. So purpose of this discussion is to find out the optimum solution. I hope that all will participate and give their valuable inputs .Here I put some queries which will help me to evaluate the best ones.I need solution for ( 1 MWH) energy initially ?Total initial cost for this project ?What will be Payback period for each one option?Supplier name if any one know ?Your earliest response will be highly appreciated.Thanking You&RegardsEngr.
