Its always something....

All right one more thing to work out....
My F1/D2/HS7000N - of which I have two. We are at home here in SE Idaho and the one is only getting a signal of 47 +/-, can't get it any better, it works for a few hours couple of days at most then goes to three lights and a Tx code of 13. I was told a few years ago when I bought it, used, that the transmitter might have an issue.
The other F1/D2 when I deploy works n great, signal around 67 and no issues....
One quick question, are the dish units tied to the controller? We are heading south for the winter in a few weeks and I am thinking of moving the good dish, to our other rig, but will I have to move the controller also?
As usual any input would be greatly appreciated....

The dishes don't care what controller is attached, but the dish and controller have to have the same firmware versions. With D2s I assume you have 3.7.6 in both, and if so switching will not matter.

1. How can I check the firmware version on both the dish and the controller?
2. Any idea what is wrong with the dish/controller that keeps going to three lights after a period of time? Also i figured out if i stow the dish, then redeploy, it will usually get back on line for those few hours before it goes back to three lights.
Thanks again in advance....

Just a wild thought here Alex.. have you checked the power supply for proper
voltage out? I replaced 2 modems before I figured out it was a power
supply problem...

The firmware version shows in the title bar on the controller's web page. There may be an "About" link on the left - too many years since I used a D2 to remember.
The dropping to 3 lights means you have lost transmit capability. There are a lot of possible reasons for that, including moisture in the feed horn, transmitter failing, bad cables/connectors, bad power supply, etc.

Alex,
Is your TV Coax cable connected to the proper connector on the F1?
