Re: Starband Data Accelerator vs Webroot Internet Security Essential

John,

I never have known the answer to your question, but my guess is that if anyone would know, it would be an engineer at Starband. It's worth a try anyhow… (800) 478-2722 (1-800-STARBAND). If they're not going to offer you a free upgrade, and they're willing to take your money and keep you working on that old platform, then they need to step up and support you.

Alright here is how it goes....

I routed test RG6 cables to from the dish to the D2 Controller still got a signal strength of 46 +/-.... So I next moved the F1 dish from my "roving" 5W to the "Big Dog", and reused the existing cables and the controller, and go figure I get a signal strength of 67 +/-, typical for SE Idaho.

So now we are ready to head south when the Wx suggests it. But I really want to get my roving 5W ready to roll in the spring, (as it is allot easier to move the modem from rig to rig than that heavy darn F1 dish) what to do. I have checked the cables, the feed horn is new, and the power supply has been changed. The only thing left is the Transmitter.... Any other suggestions from any one???

Everyone have a great day and thanks for the info.....

Impossible for the transmitter to have ANY effect on received signal strength.
