Tenure-track Faculty Positions
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has an immediate need to fill two tenure-track positions – one in computer science and one in information technology. Both positions will begin on August 15, 2012. We are primarily seeking candidates at the assistant professor level but exceptional candidates at the associate professor level will be considered. Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field by the appointment date. Candidates must show exceptional promise in both research and teaching. Desired areas of interest include high performance computing, software systems, algorithms, security and privacy, human computer interface, complex networks, networking and cloud computing. Only applicants whose research and teaching interests fall under these or very closely related areas will be considered.

Applicants should upload a letter of intent, a statement of research, a statement of teaching, resume, and information of three references athttp://academicjobs.oakland.edu/postings/100. The teaching statement should include a list of undergraduate and graduate courses that the applicant will be willing to teach as well as outlines of two courses that the applicant would like to introduce.

The department is currently offering BSc. Degrees in Computer Science and in Information Technology, MSc. degrees in Computer Science and in Software Engineering and Information Technology, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Informatics.
