Workshop on Designing & Deploying Enterprise Clouds
Cloud computing is generating a major shift in how IT is delivered and managed. The ultimate promise of cloud computing is to deliver IT like a utility, similar to an electric grid. Cloud computing is already being used by small and medium enterprises. Large enterprises are in the process of widely adopting it. Keeping in view SEECS Center of Excellence in Mobile Computing (EMC) is organizing two day workshop on Cloud Computing. The workshop will cover in detail what is cloud computing, its service and deployment models, cloud SLAs, and industry landscape. Participants will also be learning OpenStack and VMware vSphere & vCloud through demonstrations

Pre-Requisites
Understanding of virtualization, vSphere capabilities and Linux.

About Trainer/Speaker:
Kashif Sajad Holds VMware Certified Professional on vSphere , VCP5, VCP4 and many other industry dominating IT certifications, which include MCITP,MCTS, vLE, VTSP5,VTSP4,VSP5,VSP4. He has more than 07 years of experience in IT industry, which includes providing consultancy to Telecom/IT companies. He is Sr. Consultant (Data Center Solutions) at ePatronus Enterprise Solutions
Salman Baset is working as a Research Staff Member at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in Hawthorne, NY. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Columbia University, under the guidance of Professor. Henning Schulzrinne, and B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering from GIK Institute, Pakistan. His research interests are in designing, building, and modeling, cloud-based and peer-to-peer systems. His current research at IBM is focused on over subscription of physical machines' resources, automation of software and operating system updates in the cloud, and cloud service level agreements. He has been active in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and is coauthor of RELOAD protocol for building peer-to-peer communication systems. He is also involved with the SPEC OSG working group and is leading discussions to provide recommendations for a cloud benchmark. Salman received the Young Scholars Award in 2008 and a best paper award at IPTCOMM in 2010.
