Bluetooth devices can be accessed over a virtual COM port.
If you want to access a bluetooth device from a Windows PC , first pair the bluetooth device with your PC
Once paired, if your bluetooth device supports access over a virtual COM port ( most BT devices do) , Incoming and Outgoing COM ports will be created, note down these COM port numbers
These COM ports can then be accessed like regular COM ports and you'll be able to access your bluetooth device from a programming language like Visual Basic , JAVA , Python or whatever other language that has APIs for serial ports.
