The Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science (DISI) at the University of Trento and its research and industrial partners have 75 open PhD positions in the broad ICT area, almost all of them covered by scholarship. In addition to the regular PhD track, this year we offer an innovation-oriented, excellence program directed at PhD candidates that want to make a difference in people's life. We are looking to attract and nurture a new breed of doctoral candidates that have a passion for creativity and innovation. We are looking for open-minded candidates that have a desire to look, listen, ask, learn, understand, and empathize with the people for which they create solutions. This track is offered with the support of the European Institute of Technology and of TrentoRISE (a consortium of the University of Trento and the FBK research center), and it includes guest faculty from the very best institutions. 10 scholarship top-ups and extensions are provided for this program, along with increased mobility funds. Details on the PhD School and a link to the online application are provided at the bottom of this letter. The deadline for applications to the regular track is May 15, 2012, before 13:00, local time. After applying to the regular track, interested candidates can also apply to the innovation-oriented track. Applications for this track open April 23rd, close May 30, at 13:00, local time.
