It's doing it again

I have tried everything including turning off the system and also changing
cables. I ordered the air card and it will be delivered on Friday.

Does anyone want my system all or in part. I have with me one fiberglass
dish, two modems, two arms with radio, one "lipstick" (2 degree offset), one
offset LNB (up to 20 degrees) and a bunch of cables. Make me an offer.

I will be in Monroe, Washington until 9/29 and will be back for the first
two weeks in November. I will be North of Everett for the month of October.
After that the parts will be in Port Townsend, WA.

It has been fun for the last 12 years but this was the last straw.

Yes. There appear to be two types of tripod users: 1) those who have been
bitten by failure to cross-pol, and so have stopped doing cross-pols, and 2)
those who have not previously had a problem and so assume they will never
have a problem cross-polling. Often they were taught (incorrectly) that a
cross-pol had to be done, so they do it until it doesn't work.

Sooner or later failure bites just about everybody, due to the poor nature
of the Hughes cross-pol servers.

Did you do a forced range? Try ACP on a different transponder?

The problem is that once you've tried and failed a cross-pol the system expects you to complete it. Never starting it is the best choice, but once you have started you usually need to finish. Forced ranging will sometimes break you out of it, but if not, the answer is to quit banging your head on the server that's not working, and move over to another, and another, and another until you find one that works.

I have been helping Gregg and it gets a TX13 when a revalidate (requesting
antenna pointing) starts from force ranging. Really strange behavior. We
uploading a new config file and tried a couple other transponders using
registration-installer and it won't automatic or manual. The skew is good,
the signal is good and his assignment is 99 (G16), 990.

I hate to suggest it but... That is symptomatic of a bad Lat/Long input...

We checked the values and they are correct.

We redid the lat/long via DSSattool and there was no change in the modem or
in behavior. So that was not it.

Bill, have you tried swapping out anything with your system? Dish or modem?

I just updated the config file for download. There was a new one I missed
that came out 9/15. Sorry for being late on that.
