TITLE: Sensing Research Engineer, ReMOnG Project

"CoNNekT Lab" is offering a full time position for Electrical/Computer/Computer Science/Mechatronics/Telecommunication/RF&MW engineering graduate. Successful candidate would work on both research and applied aspects for specific part of a KACST funded project in designing digital signal acquisition and processing techniques for a communication system as an active particpant of KACST funded 'Reliable Monitoring of Oil and Gas Installations Using Wireless Sensor Networks' project team. The primary responsibility of the position would be to configure devices / develop techniques for acquisition of sensor data from field sensors and 'reliable' detection of leakages, corrosion, pressure, temperature, malfunction, foul-play and any other parameters of interest for an oil and gas pipeline, refinery or well for on-shore/off-shore settings.


Required Skills:

·      Bachelors degree (1-2 year experience) / Masters degree in Electrical/Computer/Computer Science/Mechatronics/ Telecommunication/RF&MW. Candidates pursuing their Masters degree at NUST-SEECS are also eligible / encouraged to apply (against requirements of their Masters thesis).

·         Strong programming skills

·          Hands-on experience on digital data acquisition, cleaning and processing.

         Hands on experience on integrated digital system design, development, deployment and optimization

         Ability to program microcontrollers, digital signal processors and / or FPGA kits.

         Knowledge of detection and estimation theory, adaptive filtering, machine learning and AI techniques would be a plus.

·         Knowledge of GSM, GPRS, WiFi, WiMax, LTE, 3G technologies.

·         Knowledge of Zigbee, DASH7, Wireless HART and SCADA

·         Know-how of Cyber Physical Systems

·         Aptitude to pursue high impact cross-disciplinary research

·         Strong academic and publications record

·         Ability to learn independently

·         Ability to complete tasks and follow aggressive deadlines.

·         Possess excellent communication and presentation skills and strong interpersonal skills

        Overall a positive active attitude with a motivation to contribute

·         Be able to balance individual creativity with working as a team

Lower salary floor is Rs. 25,000 per month with a position ceiling of Rs. 40,000 per month based on experience and productivity.
