Jon,

I use a Magnum MS4024AE Full sine inverter to power my whole house.. It will output 4000 watts continues or 5800W for 5 sec, or 4800W for 5 minutes… we run everything that normal houses have,, washing machine, toaster, microwave, Vacuum Cleaner,, ect… we do have a huge battery bank and a bunch of solar..

*Interesting, I see that it will surge to 3700 watts for 5 seconds.*
*Thanks for the enlightening info. I am going to study their sine wave
units.*

You're running a 24V battery bank? How do you get 12V for your systems from that? Center tap or an actual voltage regulator/divider?

It is possible that the operative word is "house" which may not have any DC need at any voltage.

Don "house" refers to the RV... and the inverter supplying power to the
whole rig rather than just a few outlets...

Oh, right. Home solar install, not RV. Yeah, that makes a lot more sense. You can gang two of those units for true 240v from the inverters too, which you can't do with the 12v units.

Joe,
This is getting away from the "internet Foe RV subject" but As someone else
pointed out IT is a HOUSE not an RV and so 12V applications are very rare..
I have used a center tap, and also a small transformer to create 12v dc..
(vhf radio) .. This setup could be used in a RV but a 12V inverter would be
a lot easier.. I think that Magnum also has !2V inverters with similar
specs. Oh, by the way I did not have to "stack" to get 240Volts It comes
with that already built in.. Another reason I chose Magnum for the house..
Like I said this is a little Off subject so I will back out and just lurk...

Yeah, once Don pointed it out it was pretty obvious. I just mentioned it because I looked into that model inverter at one time, and you can't get 240v unless you're using the 24v models. Not available from 12v units, stacked or otherwise. I have the MS2812 in our RV.

I am running a 24 volt system, use a Vanner equalizer to reduce 24 to 12 for
the few things we still have that are 12 volt.

Re: Data Bank

Sorry, doesn't exist. The data bank rollover, if it is ever given to us with the 7000 modem, will be automatic and you won't be able to stop it, or start it. Right now you don't have it, and can't get it.

From the Hughes Forums:

We will be rolling out the download bank feature to all of our customers as soon as we are confident that our network is properly sized to provide ample capacity for all 650,000 customers to take advantage of this feature. At this moment, we are monitoring the current usage of this feature and designing the network configuration for the full scale rollout. Stay tuned, we'll be back in the community once we have another update. Know that we do recognize the urgency here

UPDATE 3/1/12- - As promised, the final phase of this feature is in engineering test right now. We'll be releasing this feature to the rest of our customers once performamce testing has been completed. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve your HughesNet experience.
