Hello Sulaiman,
The engineering survey is a good initiative and I have filled it up. I sincerely feel that the time has now come for all of us, engineers, to set up our lobbying capabilities in Islamabad for putting our views across at the national level.Unfortunately, PEC and IEP could have done that to-gether but they have had their serious differences over the years and have failed to put their best foot forward for the engineering profession. I have tried to change this chemistry since the last 20 years but they are both inward looking and do not see the big picture.
Lately, we have established a POLICY ADVISORY COMMITTEE under the IEEE Computer Society Chapter of the IEEE Islamabad Section and want to take on this job of lobbying with our Parliamentary Committees, Policy Making Bodies in the Government, Science & Technology Ministries, HEC and other stake holders responsible for the Engineering Profession. We would love to have more volunteers for this important task which would definitely help our next crop of engineers in providing them much more conducive Enabling Environment to practice their engineering profession more robustly.
Wishing all the practicing engineers of Pakistan, both here and abroad the very best.

Subject: [pakgrid] Survey for Engineers of Pakistan
Asalam o Aliekum to all Engineers
Pakistan is lacking serious development in Engineering Sector. We are constantly facing problems like Power Shortages, water crisis, bumpy roads, to name a few.
Alarmed by this and in order to get to the bottom root cause of the problem, I designed a survey form for Engineers of Pakistan practicing in their professional field. The survey form is attached with this mail. You can see the form on google docs using the following URL
We are targeting 100 surveys, 57 entries have been received (Alhamdolillah).
Kindly spread the word so that more people can participate in the survey so that we have better statistical results and thus better targeted solution to problem and please circulate the information in your circle as well.
