Dear Khwaja:
You are right andI fully share your view on the subject.
Infact encouraging engineering graduates become entrepreneur is a regular discipline called technoprenuership and being well practiced in USA and Japan.
An engineer is one who creates but unfortunately “notes/slide” distribution culture has lead the Pakistani graduates nothing more than operators/marketing/coordination workforce. Major problem with the engineering deans is that they have never been professionals in their lives and neither have created any new design nor they can encourage the faculty /students to do so without which the great field of engineering has become nothing more than a joke.
The result is we have become an import hungry country who depends on others for everything from needle to aircraft. Astonishingly the situation could not be improved even after declaring ourselves as “nuclear power”.
Therefore, technoprenuership is the order of the day if we want our young graduates not waste their talent just for few ensured bucks and make best use of their intellect by creating new designs and products help themselves , others and their country!
