The latest update the SMW-4 segment repair will take more time it might go into May. Here is the email that I have received from NOC directly.
Please find below the latest update on SMW4 as on 15th April '13
Repair update on SMW4 cable fault in Alexandria - Marseilles
Cable ship Mobilization
1. Cable Ship is being mobilized by Telecom Egypt.
2. Currently the ship is engaged in EIG repair, this may go up to 17th April.
3. After the EIG, the ship will be repairing TE NOrth cable
4. TE north cable repair work expected to complete by 27th April
5. SMW4 repair will start around 28th April.
6. Since the cable is damaged very close to shore, at about 700 mts, the repair methods still not decided by the cable ship along with consortium O&M committee.
7. ERT will be announced once the MOP is decided.

Dear All,
Mentioned below is the latest update received from SMW4 for your kind reference:
“SMW4 NOC informed that the master permit has been obtained. Currently awaiting for the operational permit. Based on the preliminary POW, cable ship “Rene Descartes” is expected to start the repair operation from 20 April and final splice on 26 April 2013.
The schedule date is tentative subject to the availability of the operational permit.”
