Yes Junaid thats what I am saying that $15000 per month is not impossible in US these days(its not a lie).With just an average experience and Bachelor's degree with proper certifications, if one gets relevant job in Silicon Valley this package is a reality. The perks for most of the good US jobs are same as you mentioned in your below email. Exactly you dont have to live in Silicon Valley to work for US employer.There is plenty of job flexibility in US. Its possible to work from Pakistan or India or anywhere (remotely) in most of the IT jobs these days. There are generous vacations and paid time off options. I worked in Australia previously as I can definitely say that Australia or Canada or UK jobs,salaries,taxes,working conditions and packages are ridiculously different than US.

Professors in PhD granting institutions in USA easily make $120K to $150k. They teach only 2 courses per year and they are not required to be on campus for at least 5 months ( 3.5 months in summer, 1 month in winter, and two breaks in between semesters.). My friends who work in San Jose get 10 days leave per year which they spend in visiting India or Pakistan to see family.

Remember that $180k to $200k packages are usually in the Silicon valley which has the most expensive living index in USA. If you earn more, you also spend more.

Assalam o Alykum, First of all EID Mubarak to all of you.
I really need an advice regarding career planning. I completed my Undergraduate form Pakistan in Electrical engineering. After that I got an opportunity to work in an engineering degree awarding institute as a lecturer (instructor). I served there for 2 years then I got scholarship opportunity and perused my Master's degree in Electrical engineering from a very well renowned Korean university.
Now, currently I am working in medium-scale Korean company. But I want to pursue a PhD so that I can have a honorable job (top level positions) in a well renowned company/university and can earn more (in future). But I am confused to go for a PhD or wait and have an industrial experience in related field. I request to the senior members of this group to please advise and help me to plan a good career.
