PhD Faculty positions at PAF-KIET, Karachi:
Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology (KIET) has been aggressively pursuing faculty members with active research profile. This pursuit has borne fruit as several faculty members with PhD qualification and vibrant research background have joined KIET and have been actively involved in academically challenging and socially relevant research. It is through their untiring efforts that we, despite being a relatively young and small private institution, have been awarded research funds to the tone of Rs. 30 million by ICTR&D since June, 2012. The cumulative impact factor for the year 2012 of our ISI-Web of Science indexed research publications was 19.3, which is one of the highest among the private institutions of the nation. We have also been ranked top among the private institutions of Sindh by
Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee (CIEC), government of Sindh.
KIET's Graduate School of Science and Engineering (GSSE) coordinates the teaching and research activities under the HEC guidelines for all MS/PhD students of College of Engineering, College of Computer and Information Sciences and College of Management Sciences. We offer both research- and industry-oriented graduate programs to meet the divergent requirements of students continuing or pursuing industrial or academic careers. We offer research and teaching fellowships to graduate students who get the opportunity to work on advanced research problem through funded projects.
KIET offers a very competitive salary, medical insurance, provident fund, end-term vacations and a friendly work environment to its full-time faculty. We highly encourage faculty to get involved in research and development work in addition to teaching activities while we assign their total workload strictly in accordance with HEC guidelines. Research publications in ISI-Web of Science indexed journals are awarded through cash, research grants or further reduction in teaching load.
