Subject: [bs-telecom] Help || Suggestion about Job Offer from Subcon in KSA
Dear All,
AA!
Hope you all are doing fine.
My friend has got a job offer from a subcon in riyadh to work as a Site Engineer (Telecom). The salary being offered is 4800 SAR + Accommodation+ transportation (400 SAR) + Communication Allowance (300 SAR). The contract duration is of 2 years.
I wanted to ask you people to plz let me know the cost of living their. Please can u please suggest is this salary will b suitable for living their...How much can he save from this? What will be the charges of internet connection, electricity and water charges.
This is field job and i am of the view that company should bear the transportation and communication charges whatever they are rather than providing the above mentioned allowance. The allowance seems too low, and my friend might have to spend on transportation and communication from his own pocket.
What do you people think, should he go for it? Kindly keep in mind that my friend has only 1year of telecom experience and is jobless at the moment.
Best Regards.

Thanks Affan,
I have confirmed from my friend. Accommodation + Electricity + water etc will be provided by company. But they were saying that it will be shared camp. What is the living standard in camp? Can you please explain.
Secondly this is a field job which may require extensive travel and communication but the travel allowance is only 400 SAR /month and communication allowance is 300 SAR/ month. Do u think it is enough??

Dear Osman
if the company is providing visa than this is a better opportunity, 1 yr experience is usually not counted...Please dont consider those who come here on so called azad visa
start with 4000 and within one year jumps beyond 8k+. Also Consider Job situation in Pakistan.

Living conditions are not very good in KSA. but you not bad either. For us living in proper rooms in our whole life, living in camps( May be caravans) is a complete different experience. But you (your friend) will get used to of it. The living style purely depends on you. But if you are spending only on your food and some money in traveling then 2500 to 3000 SR can be saved.
So tell your friend to go for it. Dont hesitate.

Dear Yousaf,
I think you have read my reply correctly. Anyhow , i gave my suggestion , its upto the person whether he likes it or not. Its no compulsory that you should agree with my opinion. But i told what is the truth. If u belong to teleco thn u must know that here Riggers getting 35-4500 SAR . and engineers 8k+ minimum. Why you are saying so called azaad visa? what is the wrong if someone comes on azaad visa and search for better opportunity?
coming on azaad visa and doin 4000SAR in start is better than doing coming on company visa and doin 4000SAR. i hope u can understand why i am saying like this. IF NOT THEN THELL ME I CAN JUSTIFY MY THIS STATEMENT.

The job is offered by Saudi BIGA CO LTD. I have never heard of this company. Does anyone know about this company.
Secondly, what if my friend goes there and does not like the job. Can he resign and company will provide him exit visa or will there be any penalty? It is a 2 year contract so if he wants to leave the job in between what will be the process.
Last but not least, what if he finds a better opportunity. Can he switch to another company? I have heard many people switching from one company to other company, how can they do that while in contract with other company?
Best regards.
