The Department of Artificial Intelligence at TU Dortmund, Germany, is looking for a
Research Assistant (m/f)
with a strong background in Machine Learning/Data Mining. The position is available from January 2012. A two-year contract is offered that may be extended if the performance is excellent. It is a full-time position; part-time work may also be possible. The competitive salary is based on applicable University regulations.
The Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dortmund is a small team that is involved in international research on Machine Learning and Data Mining, and develops application-oriented theories as well as theoretically well-founded applications. Tasks:
Teaching (2 x 90 minutes per week)
Research activities
Supervision of students
Working towards a Ph.D. is encouraged
We expect:

Excellent software development skills.
Ability to supervise and motivate students.
Outstanding performance resulting in publications.
The candidate must have a university degree in computer science and a background in Machine Learning and Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD).
German language is required.
