While most of the lecturers to professors would be reading this mail, I wanted to draw attention of the undergrad and grad students.
The point here I want to mention is that many of our professors ask the students to write research papers and don't even tell them about the grants and the other financial benefits. The students graduate happily getting their degree not knowing that their hard work in research (share) will be unethically be consumed by their most of the professors. This matter is the utmost concern if we want to promote the research culture in Pakistan because if fresh blood is not aware of the grants and their procedure, how can they contribute further to make their career in research, thus they choose the other OPTION as MBA. It is requested to higher authorities to make sure that the benefits of grants and other benefits are all shared by the participants with mutual agreement and not in disguise.
Also, this has also come to attention that majority professors are conducting research what matters to foreign problems and not paying attention to the locals like nano fluids and carbon tubes. This means that most of the professors are seeking ticket to foreign university as eye-witnessed during my undergraduate studies. While the country is suffering from acute power shortages it is the professors at the local institutions who are one of the hopes to solve this critical issue.
Moreover, I also would like to address the local industries and trade associations here to form a platform and convince the university students to conduct research at local institutions. This may not only be related to power shortages but also upgrading their existing facility or making new innovative products and machines. They can provide scholarships to students through universities to conduct research in a particular field and get the product in their name registered or transferred.
If anyone would like to develop this idea further, I would like to join hands and make this piece of land a better place for coming generations.
