The Erasmus Mundus Master Course in Public Health in Disasters (EMMPHID) is a joint university educational programme organized by the Emergency and Disaster Research Unit of the Universidad de Oviedo (Spain), the Division of Global Health of the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden) and the Centre for Research on Epidemiology of Disasters of the Université catholique de Louvain designed to deliver high quality education and training in the field of Public Health in disaster situations. To date no national nor European master degree covers the learning outcomes we envisage with this Master in Comparative Morphology. In addition, basic knowledge on animal morphology is fragmented in various bachelor and master degrees and often in depth training is restricted to only one small domain (e.g. microscopical techniques). This Master program will offer in depth knowledge and practical skills associated with Comparative Morphology (embryology, histology and anatomy) in a coherent and relevant programme, which would be unique in the European Area of Higher Education.
