Dear Friends,
HEC has already put this matter at the discretion of admitting university by issuing a notification that Admitting University shall approve some Pre-requisite courses for the students (with less than 3.00 CGPA) at the time of admissions for those who have remained somehow week in their Masters studies as to elevate the student knowledge level to cope with hard PhD studies coming ahead for him.
As far as course work is concerned, it is customary that Level of course work at PhD level is higher than Masters and undergraduate levels so that indepth knowledge of the subject can be provided to the candidate. However I agree to the point that relevent course work (PhD field/Area specific) should be there for the candidate and all irrelevant courses in the PhD Studies be omitted and the decision to this effect be made at the time of his admission in the university by his supervisor. I also recommend that exemption of 3.00 CGPA condition for PhD Admission for foreigen qualified Masters Degree holders be abolished as to treat all local and foreign students equally.

Quality vs Quantity argument has no ends. Simply put: we need both.

There is no guarantee of degree from MAJU without hard work, You have to earn it by yourself! PhD is not something that one register and get that degree paper after several years. One should and have to show something to be able to get degree. As far as HEC is concerned I thing some rules regarding PhD need to be revised, primary focus or you can say all attention should be on research instead of Course work then comprehensive. 18 years of education are enough for course work. As for as admission is concerned every one who got 18 years of education should be given chance to compete for PhD.
