Research Fellow in Real-Time Monitoring
Software Engineering Research Group

Fixed term for 12 months
GBP 33,733 to GBP 39,107 pa inc.

research for the information and computing professions around the world.
The School of Informatics is seeking a Research Fellow to work in the
area of Real-Time Monitoring for 12 months.
The successful candidate will carry out research in the area of
Real-Time Monitoring as a member of the Software Engineering Group in
the Department of Computing and participate in the EU F7 project
IoT@Work (www.iot-at-work.eu).
She/he will document the results of the research and participate in
project meetings and conferences, interacting with industry-leading
organisations across Europe.
The successful candidate will have a first degree and a PhD in a field
related to Computer Science, as well as research experience in at least
one of the following areas:
- Run-time monitoring/verification
- Automated/semi-automated formal theorem proving
- Automated formal model checking
- Abstract Interpretation
- Formal methods for timed systems
- Formal methods for hybrid systems
- Functional languages
- Hardware verification
The successful candidate will also have:
- Knowledge and practical experience in programming large/complex
software systems (essential).
-- Participation in collaborative software programming (highly desirable).
- A proven ability of publishing research results and working in
collaborative research projects (essential).

The expected starting date is in January-February 2012.
