Bases of assessment
Qualification requirements
General entry requirements comprise a completed undergraduate program of at least 240 credits, including 60 credits at advanced level, or the equivalent knowledge in some other way in or out of Sweden. The specific entry requirements are at least a good Master's degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or any equivalent education. Transitional provision: the person before 1 July 2007 to comply with the requirements for basic qualifications (bachelor's degree and 60 "old" points on the subject) for admission to graduate must also be considered to have basic eligibility for admission to postgraduate studies. This is valid until year 2015.
Other bases of assessment
Excellent background and knowledge in machine learning/data mining and natural language processing is a strong advantage. Experience with deep learning algorithms is an additional important qualification. Good programming skills (e.g. Java, Python) and a solid training in mathematics and statistics are required. Knowledge of linguistics and semantics are preferred.
Good command of English is required. Because of the interdisciplinary character of the project, the candidate should be an enthusiastic person who is interested in making sense of large and dynamic text data (such as in blogs) as well as capable of working both independently and within a group. Teamwork experiences should be documented in the application.
Weighing qualifications
Basis of assessment for admission to graduate studies is the degree of ability to benefit from the graduate program. Since the subject is male-dominated, we encourage female applicants.
