Applications are invited for a Research Associate post in the School of Computer Science Informatics at Cardiff University to work on an EPSRC project on improving taxonomies of place types using data-driven common-sense reasoning methods.
This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 14 months, starting on 1 April 2013, or as soon as possible thereafter. You will have the ability and enthusiasm to undertake world-class research involving large-scale data mining of social media, symbolic approaches to common-sense reasoning and experimental validation of information retrieval methods. You will work closely with Dr. Steven Schockaert. You will possess a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics or a closely related area.
