Re: [pakgrid] Choice of Specialization in MS EE

Wassalam,

Don't look at different courses for the time being. First try to ask following questions to yourself.

What you want to do in future, a research career by possibly pursuing a PhD afterwards or joining industry?
Which subject you want to study not just for passing examination or getting good grades but for your curiousity? There is scope to do best in everything (There is no END).

I am BE Electrical final year student at NUST SEECS. I am planning to take admission in MS EE in one of the following specializations.

- Control at EME NUST
- DSP & Communication at EME NUST
- Solid State Electronics at EME NUST
- Microwave at EME NUST

or

- Digital Systems and Signal Processing at SEECS NUST
- Telecommunication and Computer Networks at SEECS NUST
- RF and Microwave at SEECS NUST

or

- Systems Engineering at PIEAS

There are a couple of things that I need you to tell me.

1) Which stream out of these has more scope in Pakistan?

2) Which of these degrees has more market value?

3) Which is better to pursue higher education (up to at least phd)? (I am confused about my aptitude).

4) I have seen the course outline of all these degrees with plenty of electives. Which electives are actually offered in the specializations at EME and PIEAS because I know that many electives are just never offered? (no need to tell about SEECS, I know it already)

Kindly answer these questions, I shall be very grateful to you!
