So it has been sometime since I have had to ask for some help. Been boon-docking for over a year now and have had no issues. Pull up, level, slide-outs, then hit search and by the time I am done with the outside stuff we are online. Hit a hiccup today.
this is what is happening -

Hit search, and it just keeps searching. I checked and the highest signal strength we get is a 29. Also initially it is searching the right portion of the sky, after sometime it is way out, searching everywhere.

Things that have happened recently, the router seemed to have an issue, it went from being secured, to open...? When i got home i pulled the other router out of the big 5W and it plugged right in and we were secure again. Also as we have two rigs, this AM i took the extra D2 I have and switched it out, same thing, just keeps searching.

We have a D2 controller, SN7000S modem and H1 dish, we are on 91W, and currently at our home in Idaho. So as usual if there is any input it would be greatly appreciated...

The very first thing to do is to check the satellite configuration in your modem (transponder and symbol rate) and see if they match what is set in the controller.

There are other possibilities, but this is common enough that it needs to be checked first. The reason it happens is that Hughes changes your assignment (never satellite changes, just transponder and symbol rate) while you are in one location and you don't notice it. Then you move, and perform a search, and the way a Motosat controller works it sets a temporary setting of whatever you last had, which is no longer valid, so it can't be found. It does not change the settings shown in system info, so that makes it a very simple thing to check. If you find that they have changed, change the settings in the controller to match.

It maybe the setup in your receiver. If he has a SWM setup, it is different. My suggestion is to press menu, goto setting, then satellite. You may have to perform a new setup

I strung my cable over to his dish and can't get anything! I noticed he had 3 knobs in his dish and my dish only had one. He claimed he had to have the 3 knobs for HD. Well I had HD and only had the one knob. Question is why won't it work? Another question is, Direct TV wouldn't have me on a spot satellite like Hughes Net did to me would they? In regards to Hughes Net the guy I talked to when I told them to cut the service got rather nasty! I have had the service since September 2011 and he claimed I owed them a $290.00 cut-off fee. He then ask me what I had done with the equipment and I told him I had been parked in my sister's driveway and had left the modem and dish there where the Hughes staff could pick it up. Here is where it got nasty---he said it was the customer's responsibility to drop it off at Hughes!~ I have no idea where the idiots are located---maybe way down in Virginia! In any event they had been charging me a maintenance fee every month on my bill if I had trouble and they would send a man out! Never called them and they have the balls to tell me that crap!!!
