The Data Science team is looking for highly qualified graduate students to work on problems related to social network analysis, collaborative filtering, data mining, machine learning and/or optimization. As one of the fastest growing e-commerce companies, LivingSocial provides unique opportunities for working with large amounts of data, and applying research ideas to practice. The intern will be expected to contribute to some area of research within the company, though the specific project will be based on the intern's interests and experience.
Candidates should have demonstrated ability to do original research, build system prototypes, design and execute experiments, present results and publish papers at refereed venues.

Required Skills/Experience

- Currently a graduate student in Computer Science or a related field, preferably in a Ph.D. program
- Programming experience
- Working knowledge of machine learning algorithms is a plus
- Publications are a plus
