Dear Hammad,

As far as your question is concerned, being in telecom industry in particular and in job market as a general, telecom industry is in a critical state rightly put by some members and to get it out of it, needs serious efforts which i dont see by govt right now. as of 3G, there are certain things on that also caz if there is swaps or 3G installation of any kind, telcos prefere to hire experienced and professional candidates and the swap/3g installations if govt auctions the licenses will start in this yr so probably wen u vl graduate, it wud be complete. Yet hope remains.

Again there are members who have pointed out the reference matters and i believe in it. if u have got strong reference, it will land u a job in telecom sector. no two opinions on that.

About the second part, that what should u do. i would suggest and its only a suggestion as Allah and u are the architect of future and pro growth. i would say that as u have completed 4 semesters, u have 2 yrs ahead, u should try to do some programming and electronics courses as well. this will help you explore new fields for job as u wud have a hands on, on programming and electronics fields as well. Also try to do internships in any fields, even if u r not paid. it will give u a sense how job is done in organization.

Rest pray and work hard.

Regards,
Farhad

Dear Hammad

I would not say that there is no future of Telecom Engineering in Pakistan. You may have heard about the launching of 3G etc technologies which will create hundreds of jobs in near future. But the only thing matter is "Reference" to enter in the industry as said by other members. There is no other thing that will help you to get a job.I'm also a Telecom Engineer from UET Taxila having CGPA 3.90 but I'm jobless from last three or forth months even didn't get any phone call for internship etc.Managers of different org. don't pay even a little attention to my CV, have applied every where but I'm still jobless because i don't have any Links or References whatever you call it.
As for as you are concern you have completed almost half of your
Engineering so don't give up at this stage because you have spent 2 years of your precious life for it.
Best of luck for your future.May Allah help and guide you.

Best Regards
