Dear Ehsan,
You can look at these documents for the segregation of Internet traffic:
http://www.menog.net/sites/default/files/MENOG-Trends%20in%20Internet%20Traffic%20Patterns_0.pdf
http://www.nanog.org/meetings/nanog47/presentations/Monday/Labovitz_ObserveReport_N47_Mon.pdf
On Pakistani Internet traffic, following are some close estimates:
- TCP (web, email, file transfer, telnet, ssh, modern P2P applications, etc) traffic is about 95 % and UDP (voice, video conference, DNS, SNMP) traffic is 5 %.
- TCP traffic segregation: approximately 55 % is Web (http and https), 5 % is SMTP (email application based), 3 % is FTP (file transfer) and the remaining is unclassified (not well known – could be P2P or torrents).
- HTTP traffic segregation: about 50 % is video/flv.
Kind regards….Wahaj
