Dear CASE Faculty/Students and Guests,
Engineering Management Department is conducting next lecture of Lecture/Seminar series on Monday March 25, 2013, starting at 6:00pm at Lecture Hall B-08.
Once again we would like to encourage everyone to participate, its free, these lectures are particularly very useful to CASE and/or any Students from other universities. CASE Students may bring their guest, friends from other Universities, as these lectures are equallyuseful and beneficial.
This lecture shall be conducted by Dr. Waheed Iqbal and the topic is:
Adaptive Resource Allocation For Cloud Hosted Web Applications.
"In cloud-based web application hosting environments, virtualization offers the potential to exploit adaptive resource provisioning and scaling to maintain service level agreements while minimizing resource utilization for a given workload. However, the complexity of multi-tier Web applications makes it difficult to automatically provision resources to each tier without human supervision. The focus of the talk is to discuss the cloud hosted multi-tier web application's scalability issues and resolutions using black-box and rule-based resource allocation strategies."
