Pakistan Innovation Foundation formally announced its launch initiative 'The National Innovation Grand Challenge' (NIGC). NIGC is designed to be an 'Open Innovation' Competition designed to engage and empower Pakistani youth - students, entrepreneurs, professionals, and citizen innovators - in helping solve Pakistan's Development Problems and Competitiveness Challenges. Prizes are sponsored by some of the leading corporate and non-profit partners with strategic long-term interests in prize areas.
Patterned after the famous X-Prize and Grand Challenges in Global Health, the NIGC is a 15-month long process entailing design, prototype, and demonstration phases that will help train and mentor innovation teams to think out of the box and compete to solve a prep-specified problem. Pakistan Innovation Foundation will soon be launching a Universities Roadshow to connect with Students across Pakistan who may be able to compete in the NIGC to win prizes starting July 2013. Please attend an Information Session at a University near you or Invite PIF to your school. Please join PIF's facebook page (below) to keep abreast of our upcoming engagements.
Pakistan Innovation Foundation also unvieled, yesterday, its Online Portal (http://www.pif.org.pk) that allows individuals and corporate entities to become members of PIF, sign up to mentor an innovation team, volunteer across a range of PIF activities, and just keep abreast of the latest developments on the Innovation front.
PIF welcomes all its friends and well-wishers to take time out to participate and contribute in this activity. Lets join hands with this movement to create a knowledge-driven, innovative, and prosperous Pakistan - A Pakistan that believes in itself and delivers on its promise for everyone, from a man on the street to the one sitting in the corner office of a skyscrapper.
